Kellie’s First Sketch Challenge

July 19, 2009

In celebration of Kellie having yet another blog facelift, getting into yet another Design Team and being yet again a generous person – she is giving away freebies!! There is just one catch. And that is to make a card using her first ever sketch challenge!

This the sketch, which the only thing I changed was to turn it sideways.

And this is what I came up with. I used watercolour pencils to colour my HouseMouse stamp. The rest of the items used are all old stock so I couldn’t even begin to say who or what design they are.

Kellie's Sketch Challenge

It’s not a very good photo due to it being dark out so I had to take it on my work desk, but I am sure you will all get the gist of it! So come one, come all and join in for your chance to win!!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge 14

May 31, 2009

Well, I have been on holidays for the last couple of weeks so I missed out on a couple of challenges from MDUC. I am back now though and have just completed this weeks challenge – Moving to the Country. Now I had a few ideas on this one. I was going to d a “Moving” card as in a farewell type card, but I couldn’t figure out HOW to actually do it! So I decided that a country themed card will be just as good. This is what I came up with.

May 3, 2009

Mothers Day is only one week away, so this weeks challenge at MDUC was to make a Mothers Day card. This card came together really easily and I am quite happy with the outcome. Although when it comes to taking pictures of my cards, I am not so good at it.. lol

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #9

April 26, 2009

This weeks challenge was fun!!! The theme is:

SPOTS

I hand dotted the background paper to make it the same colours as was used to colour little Tilda. The vellum looks spotty because I used blue sticky dots to stick it down to add to the spotted theme. The little butterflies came from the $2 Shop.

April 25, 2009

Well, #8 has been and gone… I actually started the card the day the new challenge was posted, but due to a busy week at work, then a busy week with side projects, poor Tilda was neglected… So although I am late and can not be selected, I have posted my card anyway.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #5

March 29, 2009

This weeks challenge was to do an Easter themed card using a Magnolia stamp. Tjis card actually came together really well for me. It usually takes me a few days to complete a card so this was a nice change! To colour in Tilda, I used my new texta’s that I bought from Kellie through Stampin’ Up and I really think it has made a wonderful difference instead of using the water colour pencils. I will be buying the othere sets of textas for certain. I just traced around the inside of the line with the colour I wanted, then used a wet paint brush to blend the colour lightly over the remaining white space. Simple, and effective.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #4

March 25, 2009

This weeks challenge was simply titled “Bling It On!” I don’t have much in te way of bling, so I went nuts with the glitter! I had a lot of fun with this challenge. Here’s my entry:

I covered the brads in glue then dunked them in glitter. The brads that are in the centre of the flowers are purple and I used the same method of glue and dunking in glitter. My computer/craft room is now a sparkling shambles, but I had a lot of fun!!
